Green Gables Montessori Primary School first opened its doors in 2011. This beautiful, purposely renovated space was intended to serve solely as the feeder primary school for Green Gables Nursery. However, at the request of the parents, we opened a Baby Room and a Preschool Room, allowing us to cater for children aged 3months - 11 years of age, from 8am - 6pm, 48 weeks of the year.
Here at Green Gables, our children make creative choices in their learning, while our beautifully equipped classrooms and our highly trained teachers offer age appropriate activities to guide the process. Each child is treated and respected as an individual. Our children experience a loving, thriving, welcoming community where their learning has no limits. Our small class sizes will never exceed 20 children, ensuring your child reaches their full potential, flourishing both academically and socially in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment.
In addition to the rich curriculum based on the principles of learning developed by Maria Montessori, we also offer an array of extra curricular activities such as French, swimming, drama, recorder and piano lessons along with attending Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre weekly, where they learn how to canoe, bell boat and rock climb, developing life saving and team work skills to keep with them for life.
Our children also use the local amenities in Wapping for swimming, sports and daily trips to the park.
Opening Times: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Ages: 5 years - 11 years

I would express my gratitude towards Green Gables for taking aboard my child. I would like to thank the Reception class teachers, as my child really enjoyed his time there, due to my husbands work we had to move away. My child has now started studying at a mainstream school and is currently one year ahead than his year group. I truly recommend Green Gables to other parents out there.
As head of school, I would like to wish you a warm welcome to our unique and wonderful school where children are engaged, challenged and motivated by their own learning. I qualified from St Nicholas Montessori College, Dublin, with a B.A (hons) Degree in Montessori Education in 2010. I studied Child Psychology and Special Needs for four years as part of my degree course. Since then, I have been teaching and working with children in many different countries such as Ireland, Canada, Australia and America. I am passionate about the Montessori philosophy and method of teaching. Previous to accepting the position as Head Teacher, I was teaching in our Upper Elementary class.
At Green Gables Primary, each child’s individuality is supported and nourished in a loving and caring environment created by our staff. Our aim is for each child to develop academically, spiritually, morally, physically and socially, at their own pace, and for each child to leave our school confident, proud and ready for their next journey. We pride ourselves on providing children with a rich and exciting curriculum in a “home from home” environment.
