Building on over 30 years’ experience of offering exceptional childcare, Montessori by Busy Bees provides children and families with high-quality Montessori education for children aged 12 weeks to 5 years. At Montessori by Busy Bees, we educate young children through natural interests, activities provided with high quality Montessori resources and a flexible approach to individualised learning all designed to give them the best start in life.
Our Montessori classrooms are designed to meet the needs of all the children. They provide a sense of calming surroundings for the children, where the layout of furniture and equipment is set up to ensure the children can make the best use of their environment. This provides spaces to play and learn at a table, on the floor, inside or outside. All equipment and materials are child appropriate, where resources are effectively presented for the children to freely access.
Our Montessori educators are highly trained, and they use their knowledge and skills to ensure all children are given the best start in life. Montessori educators observe children and support them in accessing activities that they choose to support their learning. At Busy Bees we always strive for the best, where educators have full access to our outstanding training programmes, supporting them to be the best they can be as well as providing exceptional care for the children.
At Montessori by Busy Bees, our approach will provide all children with a range of learning experiences, supporting them to build a foundation of skills ready for future learning. The Montessori materials are designed to meet the needs of the children, providing learning opportunities and stimulating environments under the five Montessori areas; Practical life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language and Cultural.
Montessori by Busy Bees encourages children’s independence in all activities and emphasises the skills of coordination and concentration. Montessori materials and presentation naturally encourage children to see activities through to their completion, including ensuring that they are tided away in the ordered environment. Many materials are self correcting, helping children to learn through trial and error. Allowing children opportunities to do things for themselves supports their confidence, self-esteem and self-belief.
A key element of the Montessori approach is the connection with the natural world of the outdoors. Our outdoor environments provide an extension from the indoor environment, giving the children opportunities to connect with the natural world around them. Daily outdoor experiences provide the children opportunities to practice their physical skills, as well as engaging with nature around them for example.
At Montessori by Busy Bees, all mealtimes are learning experiences for the children. Children sit at the table for their meals and are encouraged to feed themselves. Children use their independence skills to help lay the tables and collect together the appropriate cutlery and crockery they need for their meal, and all equipment is child appropriate. Manners and positive table manners are also a focus, helping the children to learn about curtesy. The children also participate in clearing away following a mealtime, cleaning their plates and washing their hands and faces, all key daily life skills.
At Montessori by Busy Bees, our educators provide a range of high-quality Montessori activities for children to self select, taking a lead in their learning. By choosing their own activities, children become absorbed in their play and Montessori educators build and extend on the children’s skills and learning in each activity. Bespoke high quality Montessori equipment for the children is provided across all our settings, aiding the children to learn fundamental skills.
We offer up to 30 hours funded childcare per week.
This system of education is both a philosophy of child development and a rationale for guiding such growth. It is based on two important developmental needs of children:
The need for freedom within limits. A carefully prepared environment which guarantees exposure to materials and experiences. The Montessori method of education is designed to take full advantage of the children’s desire to learn and their unique ability to develop their own capabilities.
